This may be controversial, but tuna on toast is great :)

I literally just googled ‘? On toast’ and the first suggestion on a site was Welsh rarebit, ie cheese, on toast with a poached egg! Sounds delicious 😋 @Teddybear12

    @Ross_Scope  I love that too

@Biblioklept we put tuna straight from a tin onto bread then put cheese on top and grill it, it’s like a toastie

My favourite toast topping is just a great quality butter i.e. from a dairy or farm shop and lots of it so it’s dripping off

Yes, sunny side up and a bit runny, with just a tiny smidgeon of salt, very tasty.

I always put salt on the yolk then splash with the oil for nice seal on yolk

For breakfast it will have to be real butter and lots of it, when i'm not trying to eat healthy haha. For dinner, anything from cheese, poached egg, beans.
When i look after my grandson, i ask him what he wants for dinner and his reply is always "toast" lol he loves it.

Does anybody have a sandwich toaster?

We recently found one that hadn’t been used for ages and it’s a great piece of kit.

Just make a sandwich and put it in the toaster then you have a nice warm meal. Cheap too.

Even I can do it :D

We had a breville sandwich toaster about thirty years or more ago, brilliant. I don’t really know why we got rid of it, I could do with it now.

We often have toasties very quick and easy meal

@leeCal you can get a sandwich maker pretty cheap mine is a 4 plate one and wasn't expensive

Alternatively you can make the sandwich and put it in frying pan works roughly same

@janer1967 didn’t know that about the frying pan! Do you need to put any oil in or just the sandwich?

Thank you @janer1967, that makes sense. I’ll try it over the weekend because my better half is on holiday for a week, hence toast yesterday. She did do some meals and freeze them for me but I forgot to defrost one yesterday. 🥶

    I’d use some butter @66Mustang

If you butter the bread on the outside like you do when using sandwich toaster that should be fine or you can put some butter in pan as well

If you use a non stick pan just buttering bread will be OK and makes it more crispy than if you add extra butter

Cheese ones are great this way and also egg . Put first slice in warm pan crack egg onto bread and put other slice on top and turn over to do other side makes perfect fried egg toastie

Slightly off topic but I have been given a rice salad by my neighbour, it’s nice but I’m wondering if I lightly fry it would that be like special fried rice or just yucky?
