Hi @Siobhanluv. Thanks for reaching out to us. I'll happily help if I can!
Are you looking at anything in particular in relation to the comparison between mainstream and specialist schooling? This will help guide the resources I am able to suggest.
In terms of EHCP pros and cons since taking away statements, some resources you might find helpful include:- Making sense of 'teaching', 'support' and 'differentiation': The educational experiences of pupils with education, health and care plans and statements in mainstream secondary schools
- The role of educational psychologists in fuelling the narrative of the "velcro ta"
- Statutory assessment for special educational needs and the warnock report; the first 40 years
- The special educational needs code of practice explained
- Exodus from mainstream marks a wane in inclusion
- New sen proposals spark fears that it might just be a cost-cutting exercise
Hope you find some of these useful. Look forward to hopefully hearing from you again soonCommunity Volunteer Adviser with professional knowledge of education, special educational needs and disabilities and EHCP's. Pronouns: She/her.
