Hi, new to the community. I have my assessment booked for Monday 4th July, I was diagnosed with PTSD around 2 years ago after some quite strenuous jobs (Armed Forces & Prison Officer). I am worried now that they require additional details and will it go against me that I am still working? Ive had to change jobs due to my mental health but i couldnt afford not to work with my monthly outgoings. Any advice would be much appreciated

Many people work and receive PIP. PIP is about the difficulties you have on the majority of days completing the PIP activities to the required standard.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Ok thank you that is something i didnt know. I was unaware you were able to claim it if i was working

PIP isn't means tested so working doesn't affect the amount you maybe entitled to. However, if the work you do contradicts the reasons you're claiming PIP then it could go against you.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Well Ive left the prison service because i menatally couldnt cope with it anymore. Ive now moved to an office job its boring as hell but im not on edge every second im there

Welcome to the community @markh1982 Are you receiving enough support to help you manage your mental health at the moment?
I'm glad that you're not finding your new job as stressful. -
I’ve I’ve tried a number of treatments, EMDR unfortunately made me deteriorate so I had to stop it, my meds have been upped twice but I have a great supporting family who help me throughout my bad points, it has really effected my lifestyle in ways I didn’t think it could

I'm glad that your family are supportive @Markh1982 Different treatments work for different people, so I hope that you find a combination of things that work for you.
