Hi all, I'm currently receiving the following benefits:

Housing Benefit
Council Tax Support

PIP enhanced care
PIP standard mobility

Contrib. based ESA
"Extra money because you are severely disabled"
"Extra money because of the Disability Income Guarantee"
"Extra money because you are in the Support Group"

===

I understand that:

Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support and PIP will continue;
Contrib. based ESA gets "replaced" by the state pension;

but what happens to the "Extra money because" I'm disabled / in the Support Group?

Thanks, Alan

    You need to apply for your state pension before you reach state pension age. If you're a single person your ESA will stop once you reach state pension age.
    Severe disability premium is paid through pension credit so you'll need to claim this, if entitled to it. Disabiltity Income guarantee (Enhanced disability premium) will end because it's only paid as part of ESA.
    If you're living with a partner the advice will be different.

    Contrib. based ESA
    "Extra money because you are severely disabled"
    "Extra money because of the Disability Income Guarantee"
    "Extra money because you are in the Support Group"

    For the avoidance of doubt, at least part of your ESA is Income Related because of the disability premiums you're receiving. Though it doesn't make any difference because it all stops at state pension age.
