Hi can I just ask. I had my assessment for is it lwrca on Thu at 12pm. I know someone who is saying they had there's at 330pm same day. And the received a journal message dinner time Friday. To say they had been successful. That's less then 24 hrs later I thought it went to a decision maker. And surely they must have a backlog as we both applied in November. And only got our assessments in June. Can they processed it with in 24 hrs as anybody ever heard of this. As now I am panicking I haven't heard when mine was same day but before he's. Thanks Donna xxx

Yes, it's perfectly possible to have a decision within 24 hours of the assessment. Yes, only a decision maker from DWP can make the final decision. Some wait a few days, others a couple of weeks but some wait several weeks or more.My daughter waited 1 week for the decision after her work capability assessment.Once a decisions been made the letter will be uploaded onto your journal.0

Welcome to the community @donnamellow Thanks for joining!
I can see why this might feel quite worrying. Waiting times vary, so it can be difficult to give an exact time frame on how long it might take. I hope you're not waiting too long.
How did you find the assessment?1 -
Donnamellow, I am still waiting for my decision on the telephone assessment I had on the 8th June 2022 and I am getting concerned it won’t be good news as taking a while.1

Thank you I was just panicking. As been waiting since November. For the assessment as they saying it backloged. So if it backlogged foe assessment won't it be the same for decisions xx0

But I am just thankful I won't have to struggle anymore to appointments when I am in pain. Thank you for letting me join your forum. And good luck to everyone who is waiting to hear. Hi can I just ask I started taking 3 monthly sick notes in. From April 2020 right up to August 2022. I have just been awarded lwcra today. I didn't get a work capabilities form to fill in till last November due to covid. And I had my assessment by telephone last Thursday and got my award today Someone has just told me it will get backdated to 3 months after u first started taking in sick notes in 2020 is this true thank you Donna xx0
-
Yes, the waiting period is 3 full assessment periods starting from the date you first reported your health condition. It’s then paid from the 4th month of your claim. The extra money for you will be from either August or September 2020. Depending on the exact date you reported your health condition and the date you usually receive your money each month. The above advice is assuming you’re not claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on your claim.1

No I am a single person claiming uc just for myself. And thank you so much I don't really understand about it all Donna xx0

Any money owed will be paid separately to your usual monthly amount. Before they pay what is owed, they will need to recalculate your past statements. They will then be able to work out exactly what you've already been paid, against what you should have been paid and you will receive the difference between the two.Once the statements have been recalculated they will override your current statements. So you may want to take screenshots of your existing statements.1
