PIP said they're not allowed to say the outcome over the phone. Is this correct?

Hi I rang pip today and they said that a decision had been made and a letter was sent out yesterday but unfortunately they are not allowed to say the outcome over the telephone. Is this correct or did the gentleman just not want to say I hadn't qualified.

They may not have been able to see what the decision was because once it’s made it takes 24 hours for them to see it on the system. Some are saying texts are being sent out saying they’ve been awarded but this is a new thing for DWP and I don’t know if they always do this.0

Ok thank you. I didn't know if he didn't want to give me bad news and avoid awkward questions0

If successfully awarded the money will be in your bank before the decision letter is received. This is usually 3-5 working days after payment is sent.

Ok thank you. But to be honest I never have any luck so I'm not holding my breath that I have qualified. But what I never had I won't miss and I've managed so far0

Well I've received my decision and apparently I don't qualify. I told the person I could walk for the length of two houses and it took about 5 minutes using the support of my husband on a bad day and they wrote it down that I could walk for 5 minutes unaided. Also that I didn't take any painkillers which I take cocodamol and naproxen. I don't get the system. I also use a walking stick which they never mentioned. But hey ho I never had it so won't miss it.0

If you think you’re entitled then you can challenge the decision by request the Mandatory Reconsideration. You should put it in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points. The most likely outcome will be the decision will remain the same. If this happens you can request the Tribunal.Waiting times for MR decisions are 2-12 weeks.0
