Hi all. I was looking for some clarification about the cost of living payment. I have messaged Universal Credit but couldn’t really help. I know the qualifying period for the cost of living payment is between 26th April to 25th May and in my assessment period from 2nd April to 1st May, I wasn’t entitled to anything but in my assessment period of 2nd May to 1st June I was entitled to a payment. Does this mean I will get the cost of living payment as my later assessment period ended before 25th May? I really don’t understand how that the dates work. Thanks in advance

To qualify for the first payment you must have been entitled to a payment for an assessment period that ended between 26th April to 25th May. If your payment was reduced to zero because of earnings for this assessment period, then you won't be entitled to the first payment.Your assessment period 2nd May to 1st June is outside of the eligibility criteria.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
