Going forward carers allowance is deducted in full from your UC.If you were claiming UC at the time carers allowance was backdated too then you will have an overpayment of UC. You can either pay it in full or they will reduce your UC each month to pay it back.
You need to make sure that the carers element is also included in your UC statements.0 -
I have declared it on my UC and requested carers element but just want to ensure that it won’t automatically come off of my take home pay next month taking my housing benefit?0

As advised, going forward it will be deducted in full from your UC which will be £302 per month deducted. Carers allowance will then be paid separately.0

Thank you.
sorry to ask again so my backdated payment won’t be deducted in full next month? Just on going monthly deductions and carers paid separately? Then an additional deduction for back payment monthly?0 -
