What is the Online Community Premier League Sweepstake?

  • The English Premier League kicks off at 8pm on 5 August.
  • There are 20 teams in the English Premier League.
  • Online community members have drawn numbers and have been allocated a team, they'll now wait to see if their team can win them an online community badge.
  • There are chances to win a badge in many categories, including whose team drew the most games in the first 9 games, whose team scored the most own goals before the midpoint of the season, and whose team hit the post the most over the full 38 games. A full list of categories will be revealed below.

How do you enter?

Teams have now been drawn, but if you still wish to participate you can join at any point in the season. Simply let us know you'd like to participate by commenting below any of the discussions about the Online Community Premier League Sweepstake and you'll be assigned a team at random.

What teams have been drawn?

When members chose a number between 1 and 20, the Premier League football team associated with that number was assigned to that member. We can now reveal what teams have been drawn and by who:

What can you win?

Depending on how your team performs in certain categories and its achievements over the course of the season, you may win a 'very esteemed' Online Community Premier League Sweepstake badge.

You don't have to wait until the end of the season to win a badge though and you don't have to hope that your team somehow finishes top of the pile. Not only will we be awarding badges for a range of categories over the course of the full 38 games, but we'll also be awarding them in the following categories after 9, 19, and 29 games:

Most wins (awarded when your team wins the most games)
Most draws (awarded when your team draws the most games)
Most losses (awarded when your team loses the most games)
Most own goals (awarded when your team scores the most own goals)
Most yellow cards (awarded when your team receives the most yellow cards)
Most red cards (awarded when your team receives the most red cards)
Most goals scored (awarded when your team scores the most goals)
Fewest goals scored (awarded when your team scores the fewest goals)
Most goals conceded (awarded when your team lets in the most goals)
Fewest goals conceded (awarded when your team lets in the fewest goals)

For example, if your team has the most wins after 9 games, you'll receive a badge for 'Most wins'. However, someone else's team might have the most wins after 19 and they would then win a badge for that, too.

If at any time anyone is unclear of how this works or how you can win badges, please just ask.

Season-long achievements

At the end of the season, we'll also be awarding badges for the following special achievements, too:

Champions (awarded if your team wins the league)
Safe at last (awarded if your team finishes in 17th place)
See you soon! (awarded if your team is relegated)
4th place trophy (awarded if your team finishes in 4th place)
Job security (awarded if your team keeps the same manager from start to finish)
Off the upright! (awarded if your team hit the post the most over the season)

Any questions? Let me know! Otherwise - good luck!
