Morning all, I have been mostly bedbound with a broken ankle for just over 3 weeks now. Another 5 for the cast to come off. This was really getting to me but as the title suggests I am trying to look on the bright side. I have made myself a plan of small goals I want to achieve, like finishing crocheting my first scarf, and doing some studying before classes start in September. How is everyone doing? What is one thing that makes life brighter for you?

Morning @elizabeth01 sorry to hear about your ankle, good that your looking on the bright side.
Couple of things make my life brighter - seeing my lovely grandchild for one and my love of gardening is another. -
Hi @Elizabeth01, wishing you a speedy and full recovery.
I've been confined to my bedroom for well over a year due to illness. What keeps me going is YouTube! I listen to all different types of music, meditations, prayers, psalms etc. I've also watched old films and music videos. It's brilliant!
I also buy various puzzle magazines so as to keep my brain exercised with Sudokus, Crosswords etc.
I also write short stories and do research for my Art Project, though I haven't been able to work on my canvasses since last November. Hopefully I will, once regain normal movement in my arms.
Enjoy the small tasks you have set yourself! -

For me I quite like getting through a box set on TV or listening to music makes the day brighter.

Hi @Elizabeth1, the time will soon pass by achieving the goals that you’ve set, it’s helpful to look on the bright side.
My family make everything brighter for me, they always seem to know the right thing to do or say.I was isolating in my bedroom last week because of being unwell with Covid, I read lots of history books. -
@elizabeth01 Get well soon.
i like to look on the bright side too. I try to remember that how I see life is very much a projection of my own mind. It’s a good thing because it means I can change the meaning to things as they happen if I choose to.“This is my simple religion. No need for temples. No need for complicated philosophy. Your own mind, your own heart is the temple. Your philosophy is simple kindness.”

Thank you. That is a very powerful way to think, and I think the same, somedays are harder than others yet the sun rises and I get to see nature out of my window. In a world with roses, trees, and animals how could I ever not be blessed. -
