Hi everyone,
just to let you know that I was due my work capability assessment this afternoon between 1pm & 4pm. After waiting 2¹/2 hours they rang, only to say they had made a mistake & couldn't do it,as they had read my medical records & it needed to be done by a qualified professional ( GP) as it's the next level up,so they have to send me another appointment. It's so frustrating. -
@MadCow1 That is so frustrating, I am so sorry.
Have you got any idea when the next appointment will be?

Hi,
The person said they would be sending another appointment out within the next 2 weeks. Do you think it will be another phone appointment? She said it was,so I hope it is. Do you think it is better to have a higher level healthcare professional assess my form? I am just so confused after today. -
@MadCow1 If she said it was then it must be, but you'll find out when the appointment comes through, at least it is after Christmas so you can enjoy the festivities
I think it's always best to have a medical professional look at the forms.Hannah - She / Her

Thanks @Hannah_Scope,
Yes, I am just going to have a relaxing time and put it out of my thoughts..🎅🤶🥳 -
I was just wondering, has anyone else ever had a physical examination at their work capability assessment appointment? I'm just over - thinking & preparing for any eventuality after today's development.
-
Sometimes they do require a medical professional to do the assessment depending on what health conditions you have. The only issue is that you could be waiting a lot longer for another assessment. I've never been physically examined at any WCA.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Hi @poppy123456,
Yes I thought about the length of time it was going to take. I am hoping ( but I'm not holding my breath) that as it was their mistake (they said that),that I will get an appointment quicker. Apparently it's because my medical records say I was born with Spina Bifida S1. -
Let's hope it was their mistake @MadCow1 and that you will get an appointment quicker.
Please feel free to let us know how things go and if you need any further support in the meantime.
We are all here for you and listening to you. You don't have to face this, or anything else, alone if you don't want to.

Hi @L_Volunteer,
Thanks very much for your response, it is much appreciated.
They said it was their mistake & an appointment should be sent in the next fortnight.
I made a note of it on my journal & my advisor apologised for the mix up,but I will be phoning them if my appointment doesn't arrive.
Thanks for your support, it's good to know that I have people I can turn to,as it's really stressed me out. -
Hi,
Just to let you know that I have a new date for my work capability assessment, it's a phone appointment for 5th January between 9am & 12pm, which I'm pleased about & I'm pleased they stuck to their word & sent one straight out. -
Thanks for your update @MadCow1 that sounds positive. I'm glad you've got a date to be ready for, and that it's a time you're pleased with

Hi everyone,
Just to let you know that I have just had my Work capability assessment phone appointment,it lasted about 35mins. Hopefully everything went well.
I will let you know the outcome. -
Hi,
During my assessment, when I answered 2 or 3 things ,she asked me the same thing again,so I got really flustered. My friend had to step in & answer.
I am anxious now incase I messed up.
-
I can see from another thread that you've been found to have LCWRA. That's a very quick turnaround following your assessment. Good news for you.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.
