Hi Sue,
Completely agree when you say our bodies get used to it, those who are suffering with intense pain, build up a higher pain threshold
For 4 days I'd gone without any of my daily medication due to the incompetence of the company who pouch up my meds, i then slipped 3 discs which intensified my pain tenfold... When I was in hospital both the Staff Nurse mentioned about how I must've built-up a very high pain tolerance / threshold due to how long I have been struggling because he'd seen numerous people with similar symptoms who had been pressing the call button for pain relief every two minutes, even while using their daily Meds in hospital
I had two epidural injections @ L4 last week which so for are helping reduce back spasms and will hopefully increase in use over time , combined with meds recently prescribed and on top of all my other meds.
I still want my legs removing or damaged nerve root removing so I don't have to feel the fatiguing, draining and one of the most excruciating, frustrating pain there is sciatic pain which drives me insane1 -
Hi @johnmichael, thank you for sharing your tips! This post is from mid 2022, so I hope the original poster has received lots of help now.2
