Call from Case Manager

I returned my review forms in late June (after having to ask twice for them) with the claim ending in October. Appointee got a call a couple weeks ago saying they need to sign it not me, and the form was been sent back out. Got the form and returned it maybe a week ago or so and just today my appointee got a call from the same person asking some questions about what was on the review form basically.

They didn’t really say much on the phone to indicate any movement, and just said they will write up the notes and if they can they will extend the award. Otherwise it will need to go to IAS.

Has anyone had contact with a case manager regarding a review form recently, say this year? If so, what happened next.

    Hello there @Kieran20

Thanks for making this post, I hope you are getting on okay and are managing alright in this heat :)

I understand that those phone calls can make you wonder, and in some cases can cause anxiety, but I'm not sure it's a sign of whatever way the decision is likely to go. Hopefully though, you receive an outcome soon and it's a positive one for you.

How have you found the PIP review process so far?

Had another call, fairly brief, mentioned I was getting 4 points rather than 2 in one question and other than that she was able to complete the review and a decision is on its way.

    PIP Review

Somewhat satisfied the review. Awarded the same rates until 2028.
I got an extra 2 points on one of the daily descriptors, but despite having evidence to backup points on places I wasn’t previously awarded I didn’t get these points.

However, I’m not sure if this is because I said no change on the letter (technically true, they should have awarded these before), and the fact if they see a change in needs they are supposably suppose to send you for an assessment and/or even make you do a renewal form instead of review.

So not sure if that’s a limitation of a case manager decision without assessment, they can’t award new descriptors, only ‘correct’ existing ones.

I'm not too sure on the  details that led to the extra points in some areas I'm afraid.

It sounds like you're ultimately happy with the decision @Kieran20, so I'm pleased for you :)
