Advice needed. I have been awarded PIP. Does the payment get made the same day as the text?

Sorry Tori, meant to say. The friend has had a lot of dealings with the DWP and is usually very knowledgeable about the rules. He truly believed that SDP was in place of the mobility part of the PIP
I think he errs on the side of caution because he doesn't want his friends getting into any trouble.
It isn't done from malice, he has a good heart and has really helped in the past - I would not have reapplied for PIP if he hadn't insisted I do it.

'You told us about PIP award, living alone with no carer and your ESA payment has changed to about £352.'

The fortnightly payment when SDP is included in your ESA is £409.50. With that figure this suggests that your pension is around £57 a fortnight because its reduces it £1 for £1.
Glad it's all sorted and yes, that was extremely fast. You will of course be owed some money too from the start of your PIP award.

They need to know that and it will be deducted from your ESA £1 for £1. If you have been getting income based ESA previously but hadn't told them about the pension then you have been overpaid. However £352/fortnight appears to have a reduction of about £57/fortnight compared to the full amount with SDP so it looks as if the pension is being taken into account.

[EDIT - only saw poppy's post after I posted because it had gone on second page.]

No one here can tell you exactly when you will receive your money. The only ones that can tell you that is PIP.

I just won my tribunal for PIP yesterday. I'm in the support group for ESA. Do PIP inform the folk that deal with ESA to tell them I have been awarded enhanced rate daily living or do I need to ring ESA and tell them. As I'm in the support group I'm already receiving the enhanced disability premium. As I've just received the enhanced daily living of PIP I qualify for the severe disability premium. Would that get backdated to when I applied for PIP? and do I get both the severe and enhanced or do they swap one out for the other? I've not received my PIP award in writing (it went to tribunal and it was via video link. They all introduced themselves and then the judge said yo my lawyer that they've had a look at the submissions and medical evidence and decided to allow my appeal at the enhanced rate)

Good news. If you live alone or classed as living alone (no other adults, unless they either claim a qualifying disability benefit or registered blind) then you'll be entitled to the SDP. It's paid on top of your existing ESA and increases it by another £69.40 per week. It doesn't affect the Enhanced disability premium.
You will need to wait until your PIP award is in payment and then ring ESA to ask to fill out the IS10 form over the phone. It can be backdated to the start of your PIP award, if you qualified at that time.

Brilliant thanks for that. I think the DWP have a month to decide whether they are going to appeal the decision, apparently its rare that they do. One of my mates said he didn't have to ring up for his disability premium, they just sent him a letter, that's why I wasn't sure.

That's not correct. They have 1 month to request the statement of reasons, not 1 month to appeal it. If they do request it once it's sent to them they they have 1 month to appeal, if they find the error in law. They sometimes request it but rarely appeal it. Requesting the SOR doesn't mean they will appeal it.
After a Tribunal win it can take up to 8 weeks to pay what they owe you.
They don't always send a form out for the SDP because it's not automatically paid because of the critieria so once your award is in payment i'd advise you to ring ESA.

    Thanks for the clarification.

I hope it doesn't take the full 8 weeks, hope I see it this side of Christmas. I don't want to go through Chistmas like I did last year. Its kind of bittersweet for me because on one hand I'm glad it's over and on the other I'm thinking this could have all been sorted last year when I applied. I've gone through food banks and near suicide this year and I know there will be some people who have gone through with suicide because of the lies they tell in their assessment reports and the waiting times to get the mess fixed that they caused

You are welcome @Mikeb2102. It is the very least you deserve. It sounds like you have been through a really difficult, frustrating and stressful time. You have been really brave in reaching out to us.

I can hear Christmas was difficult for you last year. Would you like to share more with us about this? We are all here for you and listening to you if you would like to share more with us.

Hopefully, this Christmas will be more manageable for you. Is there anything, in particular, that would help things to feel more manageable for you at the moment? We are here to support you.

I can hear that food banks and near suicide has been a really difficult time for you. I would just like to reassure you, more than anything, that we are here for you and listening to you at the very least.

Take care for now and we will look forward to hopefully hearing from you again soon  :)

We are keeping our fingers crossed @Mikeb2102 hopefully you'll hear more before long. Thanks for being so open and honest about the impact this last year has had on you, it's not been an easy one by any means.

You raise a really important point about the impact that stress and anxiety can have on us. This can be brought on by a number of things, and a process like applying for benefits can be a very real trigger for things feeling like they're out of control.

How are you managing with your mental health at the moment, if I may ask?

As a reminder, there's lots of support out there for people experiencing suicidal feelings:

Let us know if we can support you in any way, and keep us up to date with how things go.
