19yr old Disabled Student and UC child elements.

I'm in a similar situation with my 19 year old son with complex & profound lifelong learning disabilites. I'm guessing more of us are going to pop up over the next few weeks. This was the only relevant thread I could find prior to my 'Hi! my name is…' post.
My son's adult learning disability team social worker reckons he should have already been considered of limited capability for work related activity before being accepted on the non-advanced training course he's signed onto. But upon us both being called in to confirm our identities this afternoon; the JC+ don't seem to think so, which is precisely as I'd feared...
The lack of child & disability elements of UC from 31st of August have cost us over £800 this month alone. They allowed me an advance on my son's new claim of only £311, leaving us still with a £500 shortfall compared to last month's income. I fear this is going to go on for months, possibly well into the new year waiting & suffering, even if we're fast-tracked through the WCA & into the LCWRA support group, before my son's income can get up anywhere near parity with what we've lost. I'm not sure how we're going to survive & they (the DWP/UC staff/agents) just don't care 😓.

I do apologise for the late reply!
My daughter left College after just two weeks, she decided it was just too stressful and she was unable to access the coursework given (despite having a EHCP) She is now claiming both PIP and UC with my support as her appointee.
I found everyone at the local jobcentre and at UC (via the phone/ journal) very helpful and supportive, in fact we had some trouble last month with my daughter not telling me she had some important UC email messages asking for bank statements, they then called me directly to sort it out as they knew she struggles to understand. I couldn't fault them! Thankfully that won't happen again!
As for claiming UC for a disabled student (post 18) staying in education? I'm really not sure as I spoke with a chap called Derek at Contact-a-Family some time ago now regarding this, it seems the only loophole at the time to claim was being closed imminently, I would recommend talking to Contact though as they were brilliant with benefit advice too.
Best of luck, I hope it all works out for you 🤞
