Hi I’m on universal credit. I got put on lcwra in 2019 and got taken off it in 2021. Then they put me on lwc for 18 months. I just did a medical assessment and passed it last week so can anyone please tell me when I get my money backdated? Is it from 18 months ago? Or is it from my medical assessment?
Thanks very much

Hello @WeeFerry and welcome to the community. To help our members share their thoughts with you, I've marked this post as unanswered and edited the title, I hope that's okay

Can you tell me if you did any other assessments before the one you passed last week?1 -
Thank you Alex . Yes I did a medical assessment in 2019 and passed. Then in 2021 they did a telephone assessment and took me off lcwra and put me on lcw until yesterday when I got word back from them telling me that I’m back on lcwra so I don’t know when I get it backdated too.Thank you very much

Why have you been changed from LCW to LCWRA? Was a reassessment started by UC? Did you report a change? Or had you requested a Mandatory Reconsideration of the decision to move from LCWRA to LCW?1

Hello @WeeFerry and welcome to the community.
If the decision was based off of a reassessment Universal Credit started, then it won't be backdated.
If you reported a change of circumstances or worsening condition then it could be backdated to that date.
If you asked for a reconsideration of the LCW decision and this is the decision from that, then it should be backdated.
If you're able to answer calcotti's questions we'll hopefully be able to help more with your query.1 -
Thank you both for answering my question. Appreciated. 18 months ago I was on lcwra, they done a telephone interview with me and decided that I should be put on lcw. I was on that for 18 months . When the 18 months was done I went for a medical assessment and was told last week that I was put back on lcwra. So I’m confused dot.com lol 😂
So any advice would be helpful.
Thanks very much for reply’s

Unfortunately that sounds like they initiated a review, this means that it won't be backdated and is awarded from the date of the decision @WeeFerry.0
