Hi, my name is KPB! It's so stressful waiting. I feel it'd be a waste of time if it's denied

Feeling mentally exhausted!!!!! I am an advocate for family member, who is in Respiratory/congestive failure.
Applied For PIP on the end of May/beginning of June. Had assessment, just waiting on a decision, it's just so stressful waiting, especially as his condition is dia, and is now on Oxygen.
After all the hard work, I feel it would all have been a waste of time, if its denied. There just seems no sense of urgency. Not a negative person, far from it, but that's how you get, I now understand what everyone is going through.

Delays are common unfortunately. Due to Covid and cost of living stresses causing Ill health, More people are claiming PIP. I had to wait nearly 9 months.(7 months seems to be average) Lockdown didn't help matters. Hope fully if awarded theyll get a nice lump sum.

Welcome to the community @kpb :)

Fingers crossed the decision will go your way! As you've suggested, many people feel the same way as you, so you're certainly not alone.

I can imagine that being an advocate for a loved one could be particularly exhausting. Are you receiving any support for yourself? It's important that you look after your own wellbeing.

Thank you all for your support and reassuring words, a moment of weakness there I think, working and caring for someone, gets a bit tiring at times, but doing my best.
