Hello forum , just a quick question regarding the appeal stage . HMCT had said that the DWP had until 21/8/22 to respond to my raising the appeal . I've had no communication since then until yesterday. I had a voicemail msg from someone from DWP saying they'd "call again tomorrow". Has anyone any experience of this ? And why would they want to speak to me ? .

They may wish to speak to you about your claim and offer to make a new decision rather than go to tribunal. If you accept a new decision the existing appeal will be stopped but if the new decision is not everything you want you can start a new appeal (without first having an MR).Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.

And why would they want to speak to me ? .Hi,DWP should have responded to my appeal by the 8th August, which they didn`t do. I contacted HMCTS who told me they were giving DWP an extra 21 days to respond (29th August for me) to respond. If they hadn`t responded by that date the appeal would go to the judiciary to decide what to do.Unsurprisingly they didn`t respond by that date. However, surprisingly, the appeal process made DWP reassess my application before the 29th, the result of which was to improve mobility to enhanced and make my claim ongoing. From the amount in my bank account, I`ve worked out that DWP made the decision around the 22nd August. However, I`ve yet to receive the letter from DWP confirming the information provided by the phone operator.Andy

Thanks cartini , think I might phone them back and see what's happening.

Just a quick update I received this txt msg today from HMCTS , DWP has responded to your PIP appeal. They should have sent you a copy in the post. Read their response and send any comments to the tribunal, if you have any. The address is on any letters and emails you have received. Would this indicate the dwp haven't changed there original decision?? I've obviously not received the letter in the post yet .

Hey everyone, just had my pip appeal over the phone . Don't think it went well , if I do lose the appeal could that effect my LCWRA? .
-

Hey everyone 👍just found out I won my pip appeal. If anyone on here is put off or worried sick about going through with the appeals process , then please don't give up. That's two separate appeals I've won no thanks to the HCP's or the dwp.

Just a quick question, I know backdated payments can take up to 6 to 8 weeks . Do you receive a txt msg or letter from the dwp to confirm this ? And how soon do you hear from them ? I only received the HMCT letter today obviously 17/11/22 .
-
Good news. They will contact you to ask you some questions before payment is made. You will be asked the standard questions of have you been in prison or hospital. Once this is done payment will be made shortly after and then your award will be put into payment and a decision letter sent out to you.
