UC carers element

Hi, I have recently reported a change on my UC regarding carers element, can someone tell me how long this takes please and if it will be backdated to when I became eligible for PIP?, please note this is not about carers allowance we do not qualify for that. Thankyou

If your partner reported being your carer when you started your PIP claim then it should be paid from that assessment period.

If they didn't repor being your carer then it will be down to a decision maker to decide when it's paid from. This is assuming your partner doesn't claim the LCWRA element for theirself because the same person can be paid for both elements.

Typo - should read the same person can't be paid for both elements.
