I’m just just wondering if you can give me some advice please, my son who is 31 month has had walking problems for the last year since he could walk and feet problems since birth, he’s has calcaneal valgus feet, he’s had casts on and is now in splints day and night, not only that they’ve found a dint in the bottom of his spine what turns out it could be a really rare condition called caudal regression syndrome, effects 1 in 100,000 babies, he’s been referred to spinal specialist in Newcastle but our appointment isn’t till October, I’m just wondering do you think I should claim dla for him as I don’t know weather to wait till his appointment at the rvi or if I should get the ball rolling now, thank you for taking the time to read through this, we’ve also been told he has mild autism but needs more tests for this

For DLA you will need to prove he has a lot more care and attention needs than that of a child the same age who doesn't have a disability. See link for further details. https://www.carersuk.org/help-and-advice/financial-support/help-with-benefits/disability-living-allowance
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
