Hello there lovely community folk, old and new. I thought I'd bob by and start a thread to dip my toes back in, after what has been a long year away having a baby!

I'll be back next week on a regular basis, but couldn't resist seeing how you all were today. So tell me, how has the past year treated you? What have you been up to? The highs, the lows and everything in-between! You've never been far away from my thoughts so I hope you are all doing as well as can be.

I'll put us the kettle on, and if anyone can point me in the direction of the biscuit tin that'd be grand.

@Teddybear12 Hello there! Nice to see a familiar 'face'!

    [Warning baby talk upcoming..!]
And, thank you. The last year has been the most magical of my life (and tiring, emotional, up and down ever!). Becoming a mum is all I hoped it would be, and more. It never ceases to amaze me how much of a privilege it is, even when he's trying to run away when I change his nappy  :s

And gosh yes, I can understand how the economic landscape and cost of living crisis/energy bill hike is impacting everyone's daily lives. I hope I can offer some support to make it a bit easier because these are exceptionally challenging times we're navigating.

Take care too and look after yourself.

It made me smile to see your thread this morning!
Ah yes those lovely teething days, I remember them well. Bonjela is what my daughter used for my grandson, along with calpol. Other than that try not to pull too much hair out 😂
Myself and family are all well, thank you. I welcomed my 2nd grandchild into the world in July. She’s 8 weeks old now and such a little sweetie. First granddaughter.

@66Mustang Yes a whole year. Tell me about it! When I first started mat leave I thought woah, I have all the time in the world. And it's gone by in a blur! It's lovely to 'see you' again, are you keeping well? I hope this year's been kind to you.

@poppy123456 Ha, I have a constant supply of bonjela and calpol on the go (other brands are available!) but boy, are those pesky teeth taking their toll. Only 2 through at the front so far, pray the others aren't as hard work  :o

Hi @Cher_Scope - how lovely to see you're coming back on the community, as you've been missed. Becoming a Mum is very special, & I'm pleased to read you've not only survived your son's first year, but have enjoyed it as well! Definitely time for a short break in the Coffee lounge, & even a biscuit! :)

@chiarieds Hello there! Again, it's so nice to see a familiar face. I hope you're keeping well and the last year has been as good as can be for you.

Becoming a mum is very special, there have been times where I've had to pinch myself that he's mine and our son. All the sayings are true too, that time just flies. He'll be one in a couple of week -what the heck!

I look forward to talking some more when I'm 'properly' back  :)

I hope you're having a lovely Monday - I had to stop and think to myself, what day is it again?! I'm sure our paths will cross in the future on lots of threads! Take it easy and feel free to help yourself to a chocolate digestive.

@bg844 @janer1967 and @vikingqueen Hello, hello, hello! I'm starting to feel at home here again seeing you all. Thanks for the warm welcome, and the tips about teething. It's true, these rough phases come and go. I remember at 8 weeks when he wouldn't stop crying all day, every day, how I thought oh my goodness, but we survived to tell the tale (just!).

if I remember rightly for teething we used bonjela, rusks and a drop of brandy...the brandy was for me 🤣

Hehe as @leecal said it means 'Book thief'. I like it because I once saw it in a list of "most useless words" and felt like that spoke to me a bit  :D

Thanks for the chocolate digestives @Cher_Scope! One of my favourites as long as they're dark chocolate!!!
