After a VERY LONG YEAR wait I got a phone call today for my work capability assessment.  I am on UC been sending fit notes for a year

Any ideas how long it takes for them to decide if i am or not fit to work and when will I find out?

Thank you x

It can take up to 12 weeks for a decision. Once the decision is made they will upload the letter onto your journal. You will only receive extra money if the decision is LCWRA/

Well, it's up to 12 weeks. Some have a decision within a couple of days. Some wait a week, some a few weeks and others several weeks.

Hi @Achyshakeypains :) Waiting times do vary quite a bit unfortunately, as poppy123456 has said. I hope that you're not waiting too long!

How did you find the assessment?

@Achyshakeypains You have been awarded LCWRA worth £354.28 a month extra. Well Done.

You won’t have any work related commitments and will no longer need to attend appointments. It should be backdated to around February depending on your AP.

AP stands for Assessment Period, it’s how they work out how much money you are entitled to for that month. Your UC will go up by the amount above (£354.28) which is paid on top of your standard allowance plus any other elements you receive (other than the Carer’s Element). You will also now have a work allowance if you ever chose to work, although you don’t have to now with this new award.

Council Tax is separate depending on your local authority. Meaning depending on circumstances you potentially could get a bigger discount due to LCWRA.

You must mean Oct 2021. What was the exact date you reported the fit note and what date do you usually receive your money each month?
The answer to those questions will determine when the LCWRA is paid from because there's a full 3 month assessment period waiting time. The extra money is paid from the 4th month.

ALSO my mom works 16 hours a week will this affect her rent and counlic tax/ will I have to pay anything now as I am getting more money x
What benefits exactly does your mum claim?

That means your waiting period will be Oct/Nov, Nov/Dec, Dec/Jan.. LCWRA payable from AP Jan/Feb and first payment would be Feb 5th 2022. This means they owe you 8 months up until now.
It often takes a few weeks to pay what they owe you. They first have to recalculate your past statements to work out what you should have been paid, against what you have been paid. You will then be paid the difference between the 2. Once this is done you'll receive a letter on your jounral and the money will then be paid into your bank.
For the non dependant deductions for your mums UC if you are under 21 then there's no non dependant deductions. If you are over 21 and receiving either mid/high rate care DLA or PIP Daily living then there's no non dependant deductions.
There would also be no deductions is your mum receives either PIP daily living or DLA mid/high rate care for herself.
For re assessments, timescales are only ever a guide. LCWRA is an ongoing award until a new decision says otherwise. There's huge backlogs so for now, you can relax.

Thank you ever so much so will the payments owed to me be paid same time as my UC or will it be seprate payment, and just to claitfy me now getting extra money LCWRA would that mean that my mom would have to pay MORE rent/counlic rax as more is coming in to household and I am getting more money my self or does it not count as its LCWRA and not a wage so to speake.

Money owed is paid separately. For the deductions i answered your question above. See my reply here.

Can't advise about council tax reduction because all Local Authorities have their own rules.
