Waiver of overpayment recovery

Hi,
I am struggling with the current costs of living. On what ground can I ask DWP to waive recovery of overpayment, particularly for someone struggling also with disabilities. Thanks.

This would only be possible if the overpayment was their error. If it wasn't then you have no option but to pay back what you owe.

    Sorry but not exactly true.
There is the option for the DWP to write off a debt, but you would have to show extenuating circumstances and the permission to do so goes way up the chain of command. Likely that they will refuse but no harm in putting forward an application to them.

    Thanks for this.
That just to show NOT to take @poppy123456 comment as a gospel.
    Another lesson learnt.

You're negative comment against Poppy was totally unnecessary/unwarranted. The community guidelines say, 'You might disagree with someone’s view, but that is not a reason for being rude or offensive.'
I would also suggest that as this is a site for the disabled community, many others are also struggling with the current cost of living.

What post of mine are you reading?
I will disagree if I know a statement to be untrue.
Rude? where have I been rude?
As for the final paragraph I will ignore it as it bears no resemblance to my comments.

I don't think @chiarieds comment was aimed at you.

Sorry @racyguy if you think my comment was about yourself. It was Andrew Hall's unwarranted comment about Poppy that I was mentioning. I think we all know how much Poppy helps this community.

I am sorry if I sound rude to anyone. Apologies to @poppy123456.

However,  A request for a waiver which is likely to be rejected is not the same as impossible to be granted.

I never said it was impossible.

    @popp@poppy123456

So, it will be IMPOSSIBLE if it wasn't their error.

    Your words, not mine
