I have just received a letter from the DWP asking for more details about payments coming into my bank account from a foreign bank? These payments are from a pension when I worked in Holland in the 70/80's. Why would they ask for this?? I thought PIP was not related to income in any way?? Is this a scam?

Is it possible they are making sure that you are not receiving a disability benefit from another country?
I'm sure I've read somewhere that some of the reciprocal agreements between countries mean that only one country pays the disability benefit. -
hi,
I am not on any benefits at the moment - I am 65 years of age and have just started getting tiny pension payments from Holland - worked in 70/80's -
Is this positive?? will mine be a paper assessment?? stressing out!
-
PIP is completely separate, they may be checking that you reside in the UK. You can phone to ask why.
Asking for details of a foreign bank account does not indicate a paper based assessment is going to take place, it’s extremely rare to have one.

To claim PIP you need to have been living in the UK for 2 out of the past 3 years. This maybe why they are asking.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
