Hi, my name is Catzz! Has anyone else got a text and letter saying they haven't yet made a decision?

Hiya, I received a text from DWP regarding my PIP claim. It said " we have not yet made a decision on your claim and will write to you when we do"
I also got a letter saying the exact same thing. Is it just me or is this a pointless text and waste of paper and delivery?
Has anyone else got a similar text ?
Many thanks

The letter is pointless because they already sent a text. The text can be useful to try to stop people ringing to see if a decision's been made on the claim.

Welcome to the community @catzz
You're certainly not the only one to have received the text, or to feel frustrated!
How have you found the PIP process so far?1 -
Very slow but that's understandable I guess. It was CAB that told me to apply, apparently i should of done it years ago. Iv just got the limited capacity for work and related thing on universal credit. I don't think my assessment went well as I think I was having a random good day but will just have to wait and see.
I was in the army over a decade and apparently I saw some stuff your not supposed to see and as a result I don't interact well with others. I have heard it's much harder to be awarded the benefit for mental health rather than a physical condition ? I'm new to all this and just want the get back to work but I'm constantly in flight or fight mode with startle reflex PTSD according to the professionals. .. I just feel angry and nervous which results in confrontation and normally a punch up follows. I hate it and trying to deal with it. It's just best I don't speak to people I guess.0 -
Fingers crossed your work capability assessment for Universal Credit went okay @catzz! Please do keep us updated on that, too.I have heard it's much harder to be awarded the benefit for mental health rather than a physical condition ?Many people with mental health conditions do successfully claim benefits like PIP and LCWRA, but of course some do struggle to secure the award they believe they're eligible for. It really depends.
Are you receiving any support to help you manage your PTSD at the moment?
Here are some organisations you might want to consider getting in touch with, if you haven't already:

Yes, I got both parts of the UC benefit and will receive first payment this month.
Iv had my assessment for PIP about three weeks ago so waiting on that.
The doctors prescribe me stuff and I don't really know what the above charity's can do but I'd rather not contact them. Thank you anyway.
Just need to plod on and watch my interaction with others and learn not everyone wants to fight.
Thank you for your reply Tori0 -
Ah right, sorry @catzz, I misread your comment. I didn't think you'd had your UC decision yet. That's good
There's no pressure to contact any of the organisations I listed, but I just thought it'd be good for you to have a list should you feel you'd like to connect with someone who specialises in helping those who've been in the armed forces.
