We're in spooky season now, which has got me thinking about pumpkins!

Have you ever carved a pumpkin?

I've never carved one, but my partner and I have agreed to do it this year 🎃

Haha @life! I can't really imagine carving an orange...

I'm surprised by how people people haven't carved one before @L_Volunteer. My friends are often quite shocked when I tell them.

I have done one or two, but nearly 20 years ago now.  (Not a big fan of Halloween.)

Just did the standard triangular eyes and mouth.  Some of the designs nowadays are incredible!  I guess it depends how skilled you are with art as to what you should attempt...  :)

@Tori_Scope you can get stencils off the Internet and then draw round them before carving some fantastic designs out there

    That's a good idea @janer1967! Thanks :)

Yes, there are some amazing ones out there @OverlyAnxious. My artistic skill is in the minus numbers, so I'll probably just try and keep it simple :D

    Just a little tip...

Don't throw the pumpkin seeds away when you scoop them out.

They are really nice if you put them on a roasting tray, put some salt and pepper on, and roast them till they go crispy. :yum:

I only use a spoon to get insides out then a knife to cur the face. Mine are just basic, there are some specractular ones out there tho.

To be fair, the inspiration did come from a similar carving online, based in America. I loved the idea as it is very basic and just add a couple of mice and spiders. As we were also doing a pumpkin carving contest I wanted to provide a bit of inspiration.
