I’m very new to disability benefits but after being signed off work the job centre referred me for a work capability assessment. I was already claiming uc. My appointment was cancelled twice, eventually had the call 23rd aug. I was awarded LCWRA 2 weeks later. Had been sending fit notes from April my last one was in July. I believe it was may I sent the form.
My assessment period is 14th to 15th.
When will I have a payment? And will there be any backdate? I have asked via my
journal but they actually couldn’t tell me.
journal but they actually couldn’t tell me.
Im very confused about it all.

What date exactly did you send your first fit note? And did you continue to send them without any gaps until a decision was made?Based on the information you gave first payment would be either August or September.0

My last fit note was in July. I was told not to send anymore so I didn’t. But I had actually given up work at this point. I have already received my uc payment for for September, so I’d assume it will be October payment if see it?0

You are supposed to continue to send fit notes until a decision is made. What was the end date of the fit note you sent in July?Your waiting period will be May/June, June/July, July/August... LCWRA starts from AP 15th Aug to 14th Sept, first payment would be 21st September.. this is providing there were no gaps in your fit notes. As you didn't receive any extra money this month it will depend on when the July fit note ended.0

So i can assume that your last fit note ended before the decision on the work capability assessment was made? You haven't actually answered my question other than to say your last fit end was July 11th. The fit note should have either had an end date or a length of time such as 1 month from X date.Didn't you receive reminders on your journal asking you to report a fit note after the last one ended?0

Yes I had my assessment on aug the 23rd. Ah sorry it was issued 26th June to 10th July.No I had no reminder at all. I had used the change of circumstances to inform them I had left my job but no mention of more fit notes once the last had ended.0

You can put a message on your journal under the payment section and ask about the LCWRA element, tell them when you sent your first fit note. It will be down to a decision maker to make the final decision on when to start the waiting period from.
