Appointee for 16 year old

Still waiting to hear about my son's application for PIP. They received the paper forms in July. When they telephone, am I allowed to speak because my son will either refuse or not say very much. He doesn't really understand what PIP is

    Have you asked to become his appointee?

    if you are a recognised appointee then you can speak on his behalf,

    I rang today and he has to have. an assessment. Would that be face to face ?

    It will either be face to face, telephone or video.

    If it's face to face, even though you are his appointee he will need to attend with you but you will be able to answer all the questions. There maybe a few questions at the end which he will need to answer himself.
