Hello - question re: PIP.
Son suffers with epilepsy quite badly - developed in later teens. Controlled with lots of meds. Has to wear various aids to manage it (pads to bed etc) and epilepsy alarm/‘watch’.
Had PIP assessment in Spring and explained he might be going to Uni - results permitting.
Is now in Uni with meds, alarm and uses PIP money to arrange for catering (heat/h&s issue with cooking) & other support (taxis for travel etc).
Uni fully aware and have made adjustments to support him (first point of contact if epilepsy alarm triggers etc) and even gave him a disabled room - extra space in case or seizures.
However we didn’t update his term time address - do we need to? His home is still here (with me). It was on original assessment re: applying for uni and nothing was said at time and he still considers home his permanent address.
I’m worried that if his PIP was removed he simply couldn’t afford to be supported in halls. His PIP money provides the support & safety net he needs. He only had his assessment in Spring so I’m not sure what to do. His condition and impact on his daily life hasn’t changed.
If we don’t declare it until the reassessment (2 years time) will we be in trouble? But if we do declare it will it put his uni studies in jeopardy. Thanks in advance.

If his home is still with you then there’s nothing to report. Even if you did report a change of address, it’s not going to affect his claim.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

I hope your son has settled in Uni okay, and is enjoying his studies as well!
