I'm not sure what you mean by "how it works." There's lots of different categories which you can have a look at, if you want. These range from various benefits, to coffee lounge, metal health etc etc.If you see something and want to comment, you just comment in the box at the bottom of the thread, in the same way you've commented here.1

You can refer yourself for a needs assessment. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/social-care-and-support-guide/help-from-social-services-and-charities/getting-a-needs-assessment/If it's a bungalow you're wanting then you could be waiting quite a while for that. Have you thought about a ground floor flat? You can also look at a house exchange, if you haven't already. https://www.houseexchange.org.uk/

Hi @debbie0782
There's a real lack of accessible housing and bungalows unfortunately, despite the high demand. I'm glad that Age Concern are helping you out!
One option could be to look on Habinteg, which is an accessible housing association that was recommended to me by a colleague.
Asides from that, could making adaptations to a property to make it more accessible be an option for you? We have a page about housing adaptations on our website.0 -
Thanks Tori I don't really want to make adaptions to this property cause I don't want to stay here I've already got a bath board and a frame round rhe toilet to help me up
I shall have a look at the housing association you mentioned and see wot they have got I did have an occupational therapist lady round and she says need a bungalow it was her that got me the items for the bathroom also got a commode upstairs cause my bathroom is downstairs.0 -
Hi there
I live in a bungalow in the bassetlaw council area
I had a long wait to get mine even though I was a high band priority
You need to ensure the housing team have a copy of your needs assessment and that you are in a high priority banding and can bid on bungalows as they are only usually tk people over 55 unless there is medical need
There is a shortage of bungalows in many locations0 -
Hello thanks for ur advice they have all medical information from doctors etc also im 60 yrs so would be getting one in that age bracket0

Good luck hope you get something soon1
