IF your son claims PIP then this won't be affected. If the carers allowance is your claim then this continues for as long as you remain his carer and he's claiming daily living PIP.

Thanks, my son gets pip and I get carers allowance0

Then my comment above applies. However, if the work he does contradicts the reasons why he's claiming PIP then it could go against him when he has his next review. Though people do work and claim PIP.

Thanks, if I'm honest it'll be hard trying to find him a part time apprenticeship that's local, where there's no noise or bright lights, isn't crowded and where he won't have to communicate with people he don't know (in person or on the phone) but I'm hoping someone in accounting/finance will give him a chance as his really good at maths and it'll be a shame to let that skill go to waste0

I really hope he finds something suitable! It's not easy out there but good luck to your son!1

I hope he manages to find something suitable @leanne8530
I'm wondering whether one of our employment services, such as Career Pathways, might be able to help?0 -
Hi,
Not sure if you have looked at the gov apprenticeships scheme here https://www.gov.uk/apply-apprenticeship
I am doing a mature student degree apprenticeship with work and am a part of the apprenticeship diversity champion network , it has some key information about apprenticeships and disability. It might help0
