Hello,

If I resign from my part-time job (10 hours a week job) would I need to inform PIP?

I am thinking about resigning from my job because of several things and just finding a lot of things hard.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

No you don't need to inform pip

You would need to inform dwp if you are claiming other benefits

    Hi @janer1967

Before and during the PIP process I would receive some payments here and then from Universal Credit as they would make up some of my pay from what I should have earned.

I don’t even know if the DWP (by DWP do you mean PIP) know about these payments?

If I was to ring PIP and tell them I was getting UC here and there would they do anything as I had payments from UC and PIP didn’t know as I didn’t know this and I was only awarded PIP in August 2022.

Do a change of circumstances on your UC account to say you’re no longer working. That’s all you need to do, pointless ringing PIP.

Pip has nothing to do with uc they are seperate benefits and you can claim both at the same time

Your uc payments change each month due to your earnings from work

You pip should be the same payment each month

As above you need to report the change to uc and not pip

Have you reported a change of circumstances on your journal and reported your health condition? You will need to provide a fit note within 7 days of this. You will then be referred for a work capability assessment.

Have you had a work assessment from UC? Unless you have LCW or LCWRA giving up work could result in a sanction on your UC claim.

I have not done any work assessment.

I don’t really know what to do to be honest. UC only top up my pay when it is below a certain amount and that’s it.

I am aware if I left my job I would have to report it to UC and then just take it from there right?

If your health condition limits your capability to work then you need to report that health condition, supported by a fit note.
