Have you had trouble getting help with physio @Margare93222061

I'm sure a lot of our members have some similar experiences themselves, so thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Regular, consistent physiotherapy is a huge issue for adults living with CP. Most NHS provision is in 6-week blocks this then requires re-referral from your G.P. It is not helpful for a life-long condition.

One of the key recommendations of the APPG report on adults living with CP is a review of physiotherapy and rehabilitation services for our community.

It really depends on where you live unfortunately. When I was living near Sidcup they had a really good Kings College physio unit. I had a bad back( still do), but they let me have a physio there that consistently saw me until I moved. She gave me exercises to try and when she thought I was well enough, popped me into a Pilates class, but the main thing was, she kept going with me - no 6 week block -  I just popped in every 3 to 4 weeks - and that belief in me and support helped. Sometimes it can help to push your gp for a more advanced physio as I’m sure for CP consistent regular physio is required and should be offered.
