Hi everyone,
I’m just new on here. I submitted a claim back in June to report a change in circumstances (mobility) I was awarded enhanced care in 2018 for severe Crohn’s but not mobility element. I was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa in February so have very limited mobility due to weakness and I have crippling anxiety, requiring chaperoned to every appointment. I’m essentially bed bound at the moment as I’m severely anorexic and going into hospital next week. The DWP finally acknowledged change of circumstances in September, sent out a form to update care needs which I completed along with supporting evidence from my eating disorder nurse therapist, dietitian, a report compiled by a community physio who awarded me a blue badge in July! Plus letters from friends and family about how I’ll I am, how it affects me especially my anxiety and pain. I received a text to say it was with IAS on 6th September and suddenly got a call out of the blue this afternoon from them, no appointment so I couldn’t  mentally prepare etc. I got very upset on call trying to describe how miserable my existence is and now my anxiety is through the roof, wondering if they should have called like that? Surely they should have made an appointment? I really don’t trust them! Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks, Louise x

Sometimes they will ring to ask a few questions to see if they can complete a paper based assessment. When they do this they don’t usually send out an appointment date and time.
If they have enough of information to write the report they will and it will be returned to DWP. It will then take 2-12 weeks for a decision.
