uc and new style jsa

hi 

i was just seeing what type of benefits i was entitled to and even though i claim uc it says i can claim the new style jsa 

i also claim dla for my son and get a disability element and care element within my uc i was jusy wondering if its worse claiming the new stlye jsa

You will not be financially better off by claiming New Style JSA because it’s deducted in full from any UC entitlement. 

To claim it you will also need to have paid the correct amount of NI contributions in the previous 2 tax years and you also need to be looking for work.

And JSA is only paid for 6 months. Because there is no financial gain there really isn’t any value on claiming JSA in addition to UC.
