Hello the doctor is sending me for a bone scan I can't remember the proper name for it, I'm gathering you have to lay down and I can't lay on my back or my stomach so I'm getting in a bit of a state over this and its worrying me, I'm absolutely petrified of hospitals too even if I'm just visiting someone I get anxiety so being referred for this has really stressed me out ,I've just got to wait for my appointment, x

jackieann, I was sent to a bone density scan years ago. I couldn't lay on my back or front either. I guess the tech didn't believe me as he insisted I lay on my back anyway. At first my shoulders were up off the table, he pushed them down and my hips popped up. He had to try that a few times to make sure then said we'd have to scan my hip. The way he wrenched me around to get my leg in just so I wished he'd just set some weights on me and try on my back again. Now, when I get SI injections I manage to lay on my stomach and it's miserable. Feels like I'm plastered to the table, and knowing it's just my own bodyweight forcing my middle down. Fortunately it doesn't take too long and the injections don't bother me as I'm somewhat numb in places from back surgeries. Good luck with your bone test.0

MRI scans do bones too as I have them for my spine0

Hello deenie thanks for your reply, well I don't even think I will be able to even get on the table at the moment so I don't know what will happen, but hopefully it won't be for a while yet and my back might be a bit better by then, I wish you well x0

It sounds like you are having a really difficult time at the moment @jackieann3. I hope your back is better by then.
Is there anything, in particular, that might make things feel more manageable for you at the moment? Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can do anything to support you.

Hello and thank you, don't think there's much really anyone can help with unless they Can take the pain away lol its just going on a long time now it makes you feel its never going to get better I only have to move the wrong way or stretch too far and something hurts or I pull something, my bones must be so weak, but if there's anyone with a positive story about that it can get better in the end I would live to know x0

Hello @jackieann3. You are welcome. It is the very least you deserve.
I can hear how taking away your pain would really help. Unfortunately, I don't have those magic powers.
However, have you been able to communicate with your medical team about pain relief? I am hoping they might at least be able to reduce your pain.
I am here for you and listening to you at the very least. I am hoping there will be someone who can share a positive story with you.
In the meantime, I am sending you hugs0 -
Hello and thank you for your kind words, no I haven't been in touch with my doctors about any different painkillers yet because the last couple of tablets made me feel unwell and always worried about side effects so I just stick to ibuprofen and paracetamol, and hurting my ribs recently hasn't helped either so haven't been able to get to the doctors, thank you x0
