Deregistered at surgery

Was just wondering what to do as I have been deregistered at my surgery. All I did was ask for help getting this smelly yellow (parasite?) thing off my skin.
Whatever it is it's been very resistant to come off. I don't know where it leaves patients when clinicians can't engage with the real world.
I went privately to two dermatologists. I didn't get help but the last one prescribed this surgical cleaner which has some mild effect on this stuff.
I don't really know what the plan is moving forward. Why register at another surgery only to get the same thing all over again.
I've decided to write to some universities to explain what's happened since this problem will have to be solved in future and it's no good the doctors talking about 'somatising' and 'body dysmorphia'. What an insult!

Hi @harry01
Did they explain to you in writing why they've de-registered you?
The BMA website says:The removal of a patient from a GP practice list should be a rare event. Reasons include:If there was a relationship breakdown between you and the GP surgery, did they try to resolve this with you first?- disagreement between the practice and patient, and an irretrievable breakdown of the relationship
- the patient has died
- the patient has moved outside the practice area
- patients have a right to change their practice.
As woodbine has said, you should be able to sign up to another GP in your catchment area. Have you had a look around to see if there are any others in your area that you'd be able to access?0 -
@sandy123 it has! No, not yet. Still there. Less of it on the skin so the varying things I have tried has done something at least.
@Tori_Scope I guess it would fall under relationship breakdown. They said that they felt all 'rational possibilities have been utilised'.

At least they put 'feel' for once rather than state something untrue as objective.0

All I can say is this is horrible. And it's outrageous. It really is. Imagine if they helped several years ago.
Have I been unreasonable? No, I have asked for treatment.0 -
Have you been able to find a new GP yet @harry01?

Hi @Tori_Scope I don't know who to register for. I don't want to get the same experience all over and be gas lighted. I don't know who I can trust.0
-
I give up. My life is ruined. They wasted the last 8 years of my life.0

I'm sorry to hear like you feel as though your time has been wasted @harry01, this sounds hard to manage, especially with feeling so let down. Something which could help with this is an advocacy service, is that something you've considered before?
I've listed some starting points for you below:Contact social care services at your local council and ask about advocacy services. Find your local social care services.
POhWER is a charity that helps people to be involved in decisions being made about their care. Call POhWER's support centre on 0300 456 2370 for advice.
The Advocacy People gives advocacy support. Call 0330 440 9000 for advice or text PEOPLE to 80800 and someone will get back to you.
VoiceAbility gives advocacy support. Call their helpline on 0300 303 1660 for advice or use VoiceAbility's online referral form.
Hopefully you'll be able to get some support with feeling heard about your ongoing care, health, and wellbeing, and please let us know how you get on if you can.

@Alex_Scope thank you for providing this. I spoke to Healthwatch and they provided something similar.
I would just like someone in medicine to listen to me as this problem is very distressing.

You're welcome, it must be distressing indeed. I'm glad you've been in touch with Healthwatch too.0

Still waiting for a response. Nothing from the ombudsman.
It's astonishing. The whole thing is completely mad.0 -
It's a living organism(s). And it's disguised itself well on the skin. They conceded that their diagnosis rely on observation.
You can't make this stuff up. They are basically saying their approach is flawed but bow down to my titles.
That's not science. If I had the jar of this stuff, I'd hand it to them. They can bathe themselves in it. Let's see their opinion then.
How can someone be so sure of themselves when they're wrong. That is what is truly baffling. It's fine to not know and be surprised. But to actively try to convince someone of something excuse you wrongly believe your observations are entirely infallible. I cannot fathom this.
It's ideology more than an attempt at science.0 -
I've been waiting for 9 years for someone to just say what I know. Have them investigate themselves and apologise for this whole mess and swear for it never to happen again.0
