I landed on your site because I was looking for answers to applying for PIP and I don't actually belong here because I don't have Scope problems; I don't want to waste your time but your site did provide me with a couple of answers, so I thank you.

And you really opened my eyes to your problems with money matters.   So I would like to keep an eye on this website.

I don't understand what you mean by this. The forum has many members with disabilities and those that care for those with disabilities.

It sounds really positive to hear that we were able to help you with applying for PIP and money matters @GilliEm. Your positive feedback is really appreciated.

You have mentioned not having “Scope problems”. Would you feel comfortable sharing a little more with us about what you mean by this?  :)

All I meant was I don't have cerebral palsy but found Scope accidentally when asking for information about PIP (incidentally I still have not heard about my claim but know that it has been passed on to the relevant body that makes decisions).   I have developed partial hearing loss in the last few years and have spinal problems due to a couple of bad falls,  and have DuPuytrens Contracture of both my hands (for which I am awaiting an operation).     I have no idea whether I would get PIP help for any of this.

Me either, as well as a lot of other members.

PIP isn't awarded based on any diagnosis. It's how those conditions affect you against the 12 PIP activities.

Welcome to the community @GilliEm :)

Scope is now a pan-disability charity, so we work with people with a range of conditions, impairments, and experiences.

As poppy123456 has explained, PIP isn't awarded based on a diagnosis. It's based on how your conditions affect you, in line with the PIP descriptors (pipinfo.net). Perhaps you could take a look through the descriptors, and see whether any of them apply to you?
