Carers element

Hi, my name is Kevin. I receive the enhanced rate of both parts of PIP. A family member has applied for carers allowance for me, as my partner works part time. My health has started to deteriorate, so my partner is considering packing in work. We receive Universal credit and the question is, would she be able to claim carers element if someone else is claiming carers allowance for me. I can't seem to find the answer on Google.
Thanks so much for your help. Kevin

No, only 1 person can claim either of those for looking after the same person. Are you aware that as long as your partner doesn't receive the LCWRA element for theirself, they can claim carers element, even if they are working.Does the family member that's claimed carers allowance work? Do they claim any other benefits?0

Thanks for your reply. My family member who has put a claim in for carers allowance doesn't claim any benefits, and only works a few hours a week. That has cleared that issue up for us. Thank you again0
