I am trying to find out how many people/children have CP in the East Midlands

Hi
I work for CP Sport and we are currently looking into setting up regional hubs with the support of some regional partners. We are interested to find out what activities are currently being accessed and what families really need to help them access physical activity? The more feedback we can get the better plus we will be able to signpost people to complete a survey to get the vital information we need. We want to ensure those with CP have the opportunity to participate in sport and physical activities. Any feedback is gratefully received even if it is to say where you are located and what age you or your family member are.

    Hi @cpsport5

I'm afraid those figures don't exist because there is no national register or other system to record how many people in the U.K live with cerebral palsy. This is something that Scope and I are seeking to change.

The generally accepted figure for adults with CP is 130,000 to 135.000.

I probably should have used a different title as I am interested in what activities those with CP are currently doing and what they would like....

Thanks for sharing this with us @cpsport5. I will tag @Richard_Scope in this in the hopes that you might be more likely to receive a response.

I hope people with more knowledge and experience in this area will be able to respond to you soon. Good luck  :)
