Hi
Has anyone been successful on claiming pip for anxiety ocd and adhd but also works looking after a disabled person I do feel I can do that but I still struggle with my mental health during it. It’s hard to explain but I do the job to help my daily life. For example if I didn’t work I would lay at home all day everyday doing nothing with myself so that would make me feel worse.

I just wanted to know if they would over look it regarding me asking for help but In their eyes i an helping someone else. It’s like a catch 22.

Thank you 😊

Lots of people successfully claim PIP because of the way those conditions affect them. However, because it's not awarded based on a diagnosis, you can't compare someone else to yourself.
People do claim PIP and work but if the work you do contradicts the reasons why you're claiming PIP then it could go against you.

It’s mainly ocd symptoms and anxiety I have and I also have a son and look after him too. So I didn’t know whether they would take that into consideration too the person I look after doesn’t really need any physical care it’s just being there with him. If that makes sense

Lots of people have children and claim disability benefits. I have 3 children and my youngest was just a child when i first started claiming PIP.

Hi @slg84! As poppy123456, you can certainly work and claim PIP. And what you've said around work helping your mental health makes sense to me :) I'm glad that it helps you to keep well.

Have you had a look at the PIP descriptors?

Are you receiving any support for your ADHD, anxiety, and OCD at the moment?
