I volunteered to help build the family tree of someone on Wikitree (ask me about that!) based on the info which suggested (without cause) that he was (a) from a Hull family and (b) a shipping-related person. So ... rabbit hole of soldier in India and wife born in Dublin.

But it kept my mind off the nightmare of needing a GP report on my medical conditions for a holiday in a few weeks (about which my GB only knows the diagnoses, and can have no idea about how they will or won't impact the holiday, without consulting my four specialists!) -which has been sitting on her to do heap for over a month.

I have every sympathy for my GP: faced with referring someone who needs urgent care over enabling someone to go on holiday, I'd do what she has done. But I'm incandescent (when not doing family history) that the practice didn't just tell me six weeks ago that I needed to find a private gp to do this and to only pay the deposit back then.

I couldn't sleep the other night so I watched a slug crawl across my lawn on our security camera - it was finally joined by two more and I think they were having a race?
