Hi guys new to this forum,

Need some advice, i am currently on PIP daily living which is ending in December 2023.

I recently received PIP review form which i sent back  back to DWP couple of weeks ago.

Yesterday PIP case manager called me out of the blue which i missed as i was sleeping i have sleep disorders so missed the call.

Today I rang back been told that they were able to send my case to DM but just because case manager needed some answers regarding review form which she was unable to get as i did not attend the call now they sent my case back for medical assessment.

Then i rang back PIP and talked to MR team, told them the whole story the lady from MR team advised me to ring back when I received the appointment letter with date and time so she can help further.

I anxious and depressed its s bit harsh that i missed a call which i was not expecting and now they referring me for medical assessment which is a nightmare for me

Your file being sent to the health assessment providers doesn't mean an assessment will definitely be needed, paper based assessments are rare but possible.

The DM sent the file back suggesti g that medical assessment is needed as she couldn't make decision as i missed her call and she could not get the answers to help her making a decision. Doesn't that trigger a medical assessment?

If the DM is able to make a decision before sending to assessment services they will, if they can’t the claim will be sent to assessment services.

No, not automatically. My previous comment still applies.

The lady from PIP confirmed that DM couldn't make a decision and she referred the case back to assessment services for medical assessment. I am fearing that it will go  to assessment services which is a different organization and they will send the appointment etter for date and time
