Cheese and onion crisps are the best for a crisp butty  ;)
    Yes! 100% 👏

I personally say no, as it is not between two slices of bread.

However the US Department of Agriculture describes a sandwich two slices of bread or the top and bottom sections of a bun that encloses meat or poultry.

So a beefburger is a sandwich, but a hot dog is not. Since the roll is normally cut mostly from the top down, and not sliced to separate the top from the bottom. The opening is at the top.

But then while they could send men to the moon, they cannot speak English properly and drive on the wrong side of the road, so what do they know?
That's interesting! So, will it be a burger sandwich? :D

A hotdog is actually the name of the sausage in the middle too. Will that change anyone's thoughts? or shall we just eat it like @Sandy_123 says :)<3

If I go to a cafe and ask for a bacon roll I know it will come in a bun, if I ask for a bacon sandwich it comes in bread. If I ask for a burger it comes in a bun. If I go into a coffee shop I get weird looks when I ask for a Nescafe, or its equivalent.

And to be fair after taking the mickey out of Americans, a few years ago we met up with an American friend who was here on Holiday. We took her to a large pub close to some local London attractions and she asked for coffee with cream. She got a cup of black coffee and a small jug of whipped cream from a can!

To be honest I question if it really matters what we call things like this since a lot of terms become generic moving away from it original meaning. We own a Shark, but I cannot find it I still ask where the hoover is. I don't think I've ever owned a Hoover.  We had a Henry, but he went to prison for snorting lines. I still think he was innocent as he only had access to talc.

(sorry for my sense of humour, work is stressful at the moment, and my humour is getting sillier)

If I go to a cafe, I'll ask for a bacon batch when I want it to come in a bun.

Haha, I bet she was surprised at that! I never even thought of the hoover conundrum, as we always just called it a hoover 😂 Poor Henry! innocent until proven otherwise! #justiceforhenry

Your sense of humour is very on the same wavelength as me but thank you for addressing it for other readers to see.

I'm so sorry to hear work has been stressful :( how are you feeling today? have you got time off this weekend to get some rest?

I work condensed hours, so supposed to have Mondays off and therefor a 3 day weekend. This is to give my back time to recover, and has been successful in significantly lowering my sickness record.

One of the disadvantages with working from home, and a certain lack of discipline on such matters, is it is easy to switch on early, switch off late and use the weekend to get more done. Things are pretty stressful for everyone at the moment at work. Happy to discuss in private message, but not on the forum, if you are interested.

    Hi,
I too work from home, and have done so from the start of the pandemic.  My employer has now adopted a hybrid working pattern where some people work in the office and some work from home.  The team I work with all work from home and only have to visit the office once a month, for which we go to one of our data centres away from all the big-wigs.
One thing I do not do is start early, work late and use the weekend to get more done.  I start at 6 and finish at 2; the only time I stay late is if I have to go out during the day, in which case I add that time to the end of the working day.
Even when working in the office, I had the mind-set that my hours are "from this to that" and I never talked about, or did work, out of them.

    Hi @Geoark

I'm so sorry it's been stressful. How are you feeling now? There are many people here that work from home, you'll find some who have gone through the same. If you need any help, support, to vent or rant that's no problem :)
