I may have misheard on the autumn statement, is correct that the government are seeking ways of making those on ESA to be medically assessed more frequently

No that is not the case. 600,000 more people will be seeing a work coach more frequently but if you are unable to work it will not affect you. The other announcement was that those on income-related ESA are not moving over to UC via managed migration until 2028.

What's the point of dishing out money only to put up council tax and increasing the price cap on energy0
-
Council services have been decimated and now councils have full go ahead to charge what they want0

More information on the delay on completion of managed migration to 2028. The claimant group that are being delayed are those on income based ESA only or on income based ESA and Housing Benefit only. The reason is that these are those in this group will in many cases be entitled to more money on UC than their existing benefits. Delaying migration therefore saves the government money. These people can of course still choose to naturally migrate to UC if they wish to. Those who get SDP should, of course, in most cases stay on their existing benefits for as long as possible because they are likely to be better off.
People should use benefits calculators to check what is best for them in their circumstances.2 -
The Government are saying they need to find money from somewhere, well they are wasting £8 million a day housing people who have come over on boats and putting them n hotels, and there have given France more money to do a job that they have never done. Paying france all that money to stop imigrants reaching the shores is like paying a security guard to look after a bank but decided to go home and put his feet up instead. That £8 million a day could be used for the NHS, or housing all those people living on the street, and what about all that money that would go to the NHS because we left the EU. All the time the torys have been in government we have been lied to.What i really do not understand is, how we can find all this money for immmigrants but we cannot find it to house the brave ex solders who are living on the street. The budget is jsut more proof how the government are messing up on a daily basis, and we all have to suffer2

God help us if we needed to flee to another country.
I would hope to get all the help I could. Including money and a home.
Why cant we care for everyone
we should be able to care for everyone but we don't. This country seems to forget about important people. Come and serve your country they say, and then when you have done that, you are left out in the cold. I was shocked to watch a show where it showed how many ex-servicemen live on the street. No one should live on the street, so if they can find all that money to house people from other country, why cant they find the money to house those who are dying on the street.

One thing that people need to understand and that is, no Government does or has ever listened to the people. They all promise the earth before they get in power and when they get in power they don't do what they promise. They are all out for themselves. And, most MPs don't have a mind of their own. They get told when to vote and what to vote for by the chief Whip and if they go against them then they are in trouble. Having MPs is a waste of money and time. We need a new system where we look after our country. Every government for the past twenty years has damaged the NHS and the country. We should all vote liberal, and shock the labour part and tory party and show them how unhappy we all are.The labour part is no longer a party for the working class, they are all rich and don't know what it is like to live a normal life.0

There is a common misconception that all we have to do is provide homes for homeless people, it is not that simple. Whilst different groups of homeless people have their own set of challenges, those for veterans are often more complicated.
Providing a home is usually the start of the process, however without ongoing support across a range of disciplines sustaining a home can become very difficult. Often it is due to the lack of this support in the first place which has put many veterans into homelessness in the first place.
Today, 22nd November the Armed Forces Act 2021 becomes law. All councils have already voluntary signed up to this and have done a good deal of work on it. Part of which is access to housing. It also places a duty in other areas including health and education. I don't expect it will be a quick solution by any means, as there is no additional monies to support this, and many of the services have their own issues, coming out of a decade of austerity, and likely to enter another decade of austerity. But I am hopeful it will result in better results for veterans.
