You can't be claiming a disability benefit as a joint claim because it's not possible. If you start a claim for PIP yourself, it won't affect any disability benefit your partner is claiming. It's a totally separate claim.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
In order to enable us to advise, you need to tell us what benefits you both currently receive.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.

We claim esa..together and houseing bennefit....my wife claims for her disabilities and I claim for caring for her...we do not claim for our 23 year old son nor does he claim anything witch is fine...we are happy to support him...thankyou

One of you is the ESA claimant with the other included as a partner. Note that only the ESA claimant gets NI credits towards a State Pension, the partner does not.
You will be getting NI credits as a claimant of Carer's Allowance.
If you are awarded PIP that does not affect your Carer's Allowance, nor your ESA and HB.
If your son is not working he could be claiming UC. If he has any health difficulties he may be able to claim PIP himself.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.
