Hi
I moved into my home from DV refuge last year and I only have a bath. I've had council out twice now as I'm desperate for a shower becaus i struggle and they won't help me. They've told me to "flannel wash"! I've been diagnosed with chronic pain syndrome and I have MH problems too. My hygiene isn't as it should be due to not being able to get in and out bath due to pain and mobility, which then affects my mental health and triggers other problems. I can't bend over a sink to wash my hair either. It's a vicious circle. My five year old son is also autistic and my three year old is scared of the bath due to me trying to pick him up once and hurting myself. I've tried everything and I've been fobbed off. What can I do? Thanks

Hi and welcome to the community
Have you considered getting a bath chair seat that lowers and lifts you out of the bath they are really good and could help -
Have you referred yourself for a needs assessment? You can do that through this link. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/social-care-and-support-guide/help-from-social-services-and-charities/getting-a-needs-assessment/
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
Hello from me too @sammie84 I'd also be interested in hearing about whether you've had a needs assessment from your local authority, as they may able to identify further support you could access.
It sounds as though you've been through a lot recently. I'm sorry to hear that you've experienced domestic violence. Do you mind me asking whether you and your children are safe from the abuser now?
