DWP Cowboys against the lone ranger saga

Hello everyone I'm Michael.
First off to get this out the way I am profoundly deaf.
Next I have a pip assessment next week.
I have requested on numerous times that I wish under the reasonable adjustment act that my assessment is face to face and recorded. I have asked from day one these requests. From filling PIP forms out in September. Recorded letter last week. Two phone calls also. I have covered myself here.
So the DWP send forms to their assessment team in my case Independent Assessment Services.
Sure enough I get a letter and text stating I have a phone call assessment. So I thought here we go. Cowboys ain't reading my paperwork. I rang them and been profoundly deaf this was a struggle. Told them I want face to face assessment and want it recorded under reasonable adjustments. No problem Michael was the reply. You can only cancel once your appointment now. I am like why? It was your **** up in the first place.
Anyway at present they have been in touch and are not happy about me wanting to record the assessment on my phone and they say I must use a device that can provide them a copy of the assessment on the spot.
These dual recorders ain't cheap either
I feel like buying a two single cassette tape recorders and bolting them together.
The lone ranger has given up on a fair crack at the whip at PIP. However I look forward to been the most awkward client they have ever had. May just turn hearing aids off and drag the assessment out for hours and hours.
Just wanted to give my frustration an outlet and thought why not use this forum to do so. Thank you for reading. Stay strong and I shall report back on this pantomime of a show. Take care peace out.

You can now record an assessment with any device. Before the assessment you must sign an agreement that you won't use the recording for unlawful purposes. See link. https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/news/dwp-now-allows-claimants-to-audio-record-pip-assessments-on-their-mobile-phonesHowever, the assessor can refuse to be recorded.

Hello @Phoenix2022
I'm so sorry that you were not listened to and had to ring up to sort it out!
We are always here if you need to vent
Please do keep us updated.
Apologies if you already thought of this, but if you have a local school, library or even maybe contacting your MP, I wonder if they could possibly have a dual recorder that you could borrow for the assessment?2 -
Well I shall give an update since I cannot sleep.
I went to the assessment and was treated like a king. Red carpet treatment. I think my MP has had a word with them. I was allowed to record. I was in for 80mins with the assessor. The assessment was on November 28th. On the 12th of December I noticed £2000 in my bank account. It was from pip. Two days later a letter landed and I have been awarded daily living enhanced and standard mobility. I was not expecting it and so quick to. I'm putting it down to my MP making it a priority. It's sad complaining gets you further these days. Well I'm off back to sleep if I can. Night night.3 -
That's great news @Phoenix2022, thank you for coming back to update us. I hope you've managed to get some better sleep.
