Help with tribunal

I'm looking for some advice.
Back in May I started the claim process for pip as suggested by my gp, due to my health conditions and how they affect me. By the end of Aug I had my video assessment appointment. In Oct I received a response saying I wasn't entitled to pip. My gp was disgusted by their decision and there reasonings behind the decision and encouraged me to appeal via the mandatory reconsideration. I did this and she also wrote a supporting letter. I sent this at the beginning of Oct and 2 weeks ago received a response saying they were standing by their original decision.
My gp and support therapist have suggested I take this to tribunal, but I don't understand the process and I'm afraid I've not got the physical or mental strength to go through the process.
Any advice would be very welcome.
Many thanks in advance x

The most likely outcome of any MR is the decision will remain the same. I agree with the above advice, letters from a GP aren't the best evidence to send. Appealing an appearing in person, whether that's face to face, video or phone hearing will give you a much better chance of success. Get representation and that success increases more.

Hello @slmummy
Welcome to the community. I'm so sorry you are going through such a stressful time. I can see others with more knowledge in the community have commented. I hope their advice is helpful
Just to let you know, I moved your post to our PIP, DLA & AA section in case you had any more questions or queries.1 -
Thank you for your help and advice.
I'm running out of time to go to tribunal I think. I just don't really understand any of it. I really appreciate all your advice though thank you0 -

You have 13 months from the date of the MR decision to request the Tribunal. If you're outside of the 1 month then you will need to state the reason why you didn't request it within this time. It's unlikely that HMCTS will refuse an appeal after the 1 month.

OK thank you. This is all very new to me and I find it all very confusing. Being given advice and encouragement from my gp and family support to even approach the dwp for help and support to then be made to feel that im being a fraud (not their intention I'm sure) think I'm just very anxious about everything and giving up seems to be the easier option. I used to be a very positive person but I think I'm struggling with that too at the moment.
Thank you for your help.0 -

If they weren't a member they wouldn't be able to post any questions.

You are welcome @simummy. It is the very least you deserve.
I can hear how it is all confusing and it is more a reflection of the difficult situation you are in than you as a person.
It sounds really positive that you were given advice and encouragement from your GP and family support to approach the DWP for help and support.
Though, it sounds difficult that you have also been made to feel like a fraud and you are feeling very anxious about everything and think giving up seems to be the easier option.
Would anything, in particular, help this to feel more manageable for you at the moment? Please don’t hesitate to let us know if we can do anything to support you.
We are all here for you and listening to you. You don’t have to face this, or anything else, alone if you don’t want to.
Take care for now and we will look forward to, hopefully, hearing from you again soon

Scope has recently relaunched its membership programme, which is different from the online community.
You can read more about Scope membership and how to become a member for free on our website
Becoming a member of Scope allows to enjoy some benefits, including the special "Scope member" badge in the online community.
Please let me know if you have any questions, I'm always happy to help!
