Hi any members had the unfortunate situation of trying to get an ADHD diagnosis as an adult? my partner has been treated with contempt and gas lighted by Cwm Coch our Aneurin bevan health board secondary mental health division, after her Autism diagnosis 2 years ago it was mentioned that they thought she was ADHD as well.
Over the past two years she has been trying to get a diagnosis, she has been through two sets of counselling(14 sessions) with primary mental health, her counselor has stated that she is convinced my partner is ADHD, and primary mental health have stated that they cannot help my partner further, until she gets a diagnosis as her mental health issues are too complex.

Hello again @MHC
I'm sorry to hear about the problems you and your partner have been experiencing with getting an ADHD diagnosis, I know it can sometimes take years unfortunately.
I wonder if looking into advocacy services might be helpful, Advocacy Services Cymru does offer services which cover Aneurin Bevan UHB for mental health support. Perhaps they can support you with getting your voice heard when it comes challenging this, and your partner's health, care and wellbeing.
If you wanted to complain about any of the services you've received the NHS has some guidance on how to do this.
I hope this helps, but please ask if you need anything else.0
